well – seasons have changed again – firewood burned, skis filed, – mild winter rolls into early spring & summer – windows open, blinds down – daffodils, lilacs, lily of the valley here & gone, potatoes tossed into soup pot with corn & greens from freezer, pesto with beans from freezer – garden rototilled, hauled carload of compost from diemand egg farm, plot partly planted, seed potatoes from last year, onions, peas, greens, some corn, needs work & diversions abound – Washington county literary society evening with edie a retro-roast for dickens – Allentown paper show late april & mariab show in Wilmington early may – spring mariab meeting with new president at bread & roses strike exhibit at Lawrence history center – zach got no match, had to send out more applications, signed contract with temple university medical center for year residency in general surgery – then headed to Israel for a break with ‘friend’ Ashley – spent time in Egypt & Jordan – back in time for class formal dinner/dance – dad drove down for family reception, overnite at chez cdv in port Richmond, graduation next morning at kimmel center in Philadelphia – hello Zachary o. masi, m.d. – biked through Fairmount park that afternoon, went out for sushi in manayunk, drove back – he starts residency mid-june, got a room in Chinatown – dad is happy & proud – cake & champagne toast to celebrate at masi cookout in Winchester on memorial day – had to hunker down to git ‘er done – herein you’ll find, perhaps order, recent acquisitions, selections from sundry private reserves, the usual, the unusual – there’s lots more & the accountant will be pleased if this one flies & the next is not so long in coming –

Booksellers Showcase, June 9, 2012

Peter L. Masi, Books will have a table at the Booksellers Showcase this Saturday, 10:30 am, Sheraton Commander Hotel, 16 Garden St, Cambridge, MA, sponsored by the Ticknor Society, along with L&T Respess, John Kuenzig, Steve Schuyler, Peter Stern, Eclectibles, Commonwealth Books, Boston Book Company, Bromer Books, Thomas Boss, Webb Dordick, Rob McDowell, DeWolf & Wood, Priscilla Juvelis, Tavistock Books, Jim Arsenault, Mosher Books, Robin Bledsoe, Barry Scott & White Fox. It’s free & open to the public. At 1 pm there will be a symposium ‘Boston & the Book Arts’ with talks by John Kristensen, Katherine Ruffin, Todd Pattison & Georgia Barnhill. The showcase will be open after, from 4:30 – 7 pm.
